19 Oct Oak Factory-planks withstanding > 24 hours underwater
A very hot situation was recently created by a water pipe, in which the new oak Factory velvet surface was unwittingly put to the test.
No standard surface will withstand intense water exposure without damage, but as the photos show, this is achieved by our floor with the new velvet surface. The pipe breakage occurred in a private house, soon to be moved-in. It was weekend and it went unnoticed for more than 24 hours, during which the floor was completely flooded.
Parquet flooring is beautiful and timeless. However, if exposed to water for a long time, they will definitely get damaged. And the only real solution is to replace the floor. In this case, the Velvet flooring, which was underwater for more than 24 hours, did not have to be replaced, neither was a maintenance job necessary after the subfloor was dried. It was perfect!
The velvet surface provides optimum protection against moisture, and thus these floors are also perfectly suitable for kitchens and bathrooms

The parquet was more than 30 mm under water for 24 hours. According to experts, the ground must be completely replaced – no chance of survival. We believed in the product and put the sample to the test.
